The Vision Behind Redeemer.
The vision of Redeemer Community Church is best understood in answer to a few questions: What is Redeemer trying to do? How does Redeemer seek to do this? and How does Redeemer know when it's successful?
What is Redeemer trying to do?
Taking our cue from Jesus' call to His disciples, "Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men," our mission is to lead people of all ages into the JOY of following Jesus and helping others do the same.
How does Redeemer seek to do this?Worship Gatherings, Discipleship Groups, Service Teams, Mission Circles.
At the broadest level our strategy is Worship Gatherings, Discipleship Groups, Service Teams, Mission Circles. Our Worship Gatherings are on Sunday mornings, where we worship God through song, hear the Word of God preached, pray and fellowship together, celebrate Communion once a month, and more.
Then, we offer opportunities to get healthy and grow strong in Discipleship Groups. In order to lead people of all ages into the joy of following Jesus and helping others do the same we offer a number of opportunities: Kids Ministry, Student Ministry, Community Groups, Men's and Women's Ministries, and occasional seminars and workshops to give further equipping and development.
Service Teams provide a fun environment for men and women at all stages of their spiritual journey to use their giftedness to serve the church family. Some examples of service teams include guest services, office administration, facilities and worship.
Finally, our strategy wouldn't be complete without Mission Circles. We encourage all of our people to live with great Gospel intentionality in those circles where they have interest and influence. We speak in terms of "your circle" (where you live, work and play), "our circle" (the neighborhoods, schools and businesses immediately surrounding Redeemer) and "the world."
In fact this entire strategy is aimed at one very crazy goal—to play our part in giving every man, woman, and child in our wonderful city the repeated opportunity to see, hear, and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
How does Redeemer know when it is successful?
Five Areas of Spiritual Maturity
We believe we're making good progress as more and more of our people are growing in the following five areas of spiritual maturity:
INTIMACY WITH GOD—Rooted in the Gospel, spending time with God through His Word and prayer on a daily basis•
FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT—Living in the strength of the Lord, bearing character qualities like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—in all of our personal relationships and circumstances•
SPIRITUAL GIFT(S)—Putting our abilities to work for the good of others in all of life (not just inside the walls of our church)
GRACE STORY—Reaching out to those who don't know the joy of following Jesus, sharing our Grace Story, and sharing the good news of the Gospel
STEWARDSHIP OF LIFE—Looking to God to steward all He's entrusted to us for His glory and His Gospel.
