Join us! Sunday School 9:15 | Worship Service 10:30

Ephesians 5:8 "For you were formerly darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light!"

Our student ministry (6th - 12th graders) is a great place for teens to grow in their faith, connect with God, advance His Kingdom, serve the church & community, and experience Christian fellowship. We have a passion for equipping students and then sending them out to lead and impact their schools, teams, and clubs. We believe strongly that the gospel of Jesus transforms lives, helping students grow in their love for one another, their unengaged friends, and most importantly, God.

Wednesday Evenings: 6:30-8pm

- Christian Fellowship & Proclaiming the Gospel

Wednesday nights are the heart of RSM. The goal is soul transformation, where the truth of the gospel is taught and lived out in our students' lives. We hang out, catch up with our friends, and play a fun large group game before listening to a message from the Word of God.  We then break into adult-led small groups to encourage students to walk in the Light!

Sunday Mornings: 9:15-10:15am

-Studying God’s Word and Learning Spiritual Disciplines

Sunday mornings are intentional discipleship times with our students.  We study God’s Word with the goal of understanding Scripture and obediently applying the Word to our lives.

In addition, we aim to help students build confidence in how to pray and spend time with their Creator in His Word.  We periodically practice this important discipline together on Sunday mornings (see One A Day & Pray).

We typically study a book of the Bible verse by verse with teachers who seek active engagement from our students.  However, we occasionally teach topically to address relevant issues that affect teenagers.  Currently, our students are studying the book of Ephesians for the school year.

One A Day & Pray

We seek to help all our students learn how to pray and study God’s Word on their own so that they can begin to grow spiritually.  We use a simple daily devotional tool called One a Day & Pray.  The plan calls for students to read an assigned chapter of the Bible every day and use the SOAP (Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer) method for study.

This Bible reading plan takes the students through almost the entire New Testament and several books of the Old Testament (Genesis, 1 Samuel, Proverbs, Song of Solomon, Ruth, Jonah, select Psalms, and other select passages)

4KT – Junior High Service Week

4KT is a week-long service experience during the summer for our junior high students. We spend the week focusing on why Jesus wants us to love our community as we serve local non-profits.  In the past, we've served organizations like Hope Impacts, West Houston Pregnancy Help Center, Katy Christian ministries, the Boaz House, the Ballard House, Katy City Parks & Recreation, as well as some of our own church members!

High School Missions Trip

The past several years our high school students have faithfully served during a week-long mission trip in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The student’s role is to bring the love of Jesus and tangibly serve the many at-risk children attending an inner-city church day camp.

We take time every day for play, work, and to reflect on the ways that God calls us to live out the gospel. It's a TON of fun as we sweat and work hard to serve others in the name of Jesus!

Sports Camp

Every year, Redeemer runs a VBS-like Sports Camp to share the great news of the gospel with the children in our community.  Our junior and senior high students are instrumental in assisting and helping lead the management of the camp.  We always encourage our students to be active participants in the church!

Winter Retreat

Every winter we get away for a weekend full of the Word of God, deep connections with peers, and of course lots of fun!   Our students LOVE the retreats and build strong connections with other students while they are challenged to GROW in their relationship with Christ.

Discipleship Training

Our goal is for all our upper classmen to participate in and complete a challenging, but extremely rewarding, discipleship program that will help prepare them for the next phase of their Christian life.  In addition, the goal is to equip them to be disciple-making disciples themselves.

Other Activities

We also have LOTS of other activities throughout the year, including Friday night fun outreach events, RSM senior banquet, white elephant Christmas parties, spontaneous get togethers, Olympic competitions, summer Bible studies, and a fun-filled summer calendar!
